mandate

This project involved creating packaging for Blooms, a soy candle crafted as a signature item for Montréal’s Marché Public. The design needed to reflect artisanal quality, natural beauty, and a strong local identity, aligning with the market’s emphasis on craft, sustainability, and sensory appeal.

Design thinking

The packaging design for Blooms was inspired by earth tones, specifically soft greens and deep browns, to reflect the product’s natural ingredients and grounded identity. These tones were chosen to evoke calm, warmth, and a connection to nature. Mirroring the slow, sensory experience of lighting the candle. Every design choice was guided by the values of Montréal’s Marché Public.

Design making

The visual language was designed to be calming, typography was kept refined and minimal to reflect that. The box structure was made from paper infused with cotton fibers, offering a soft, natural texture. Labels were printed on the same material to maintain a consistent, elevated finish. The final design is cohesive and quietly luxurious built to feel equally at home in a local marché or a modern interior.

Blooms is a hand-poured soy candle infused with jasmine and amber scent, created with natural ingredients and a focus on slow living. It is designed as a sensorial object, something to pause with, gift, or use in personal rituals.
